Terroir
A Word from the winemaker of Domaine les Espérières: Neglected a few years ago by the Mediterranean vineyard which preferred Syrah, I owe my resurrection to some winemakers who believed in me. I am adored or snubbed but I never leave indifferent, I am ….. the Carignan. This 100% Cuvee will make you discover the qualities of this authentic grape variety. The winemaker, Pierre Latard.
Winemaking
The selected parcel is located in the village called Valliguières, South Rhone Valley, a vineyard of 1 hectare of old CARIGNAN. The grapes are harvested at maturity and the winemaking is done by hand-plunging (grapes crushed manually) for a full release of aromas and a soft maceration, in a cool stainless 45hl vats.
Tasting notes
A typical and fine wine with violet reflections; revealing a bouquet of jammy red fruits and a licorice aroma. The fleshy and gourmand mouth ends with a hint of sweet spicy notes. Fine and Raced; Open and Discreet; like the hard work of winegrowers.
Ageing Potential
Can be enjoyed now but will keep for 4 years.
