Details of the wine
Typical pebbly Costières terroir in the commune of Beauvoisin. This is a selection from a 1.72ha Grenache from late harvests at optimal maturity. Plot dated from 1988.
The plots have been selected for their low yields aromatic potential. Precise monitoring of their ripeness by the technical team (analyses to monitor ripening, weekly berry tastings) to ensure harvesting at the optimum time.
Vinification of some of the plots in small stainless steel tanks (5 tons/30hl each)
Traditional vinification, punching down of the cap 2 to 3 times a day for optimal extraction of aromas and tannins, hot post-fermentation maceration for 15 days. Racking and blending after malolactic fermentation.
Brilliant ruby color.
First nose of morello cherry, blackcurrant, then a second nose of spice and leather
On the palate, more redcurrant, red berries carried by a beautiful freshness, tannins are smooth.
The finish is long on roasted notes.
Ready to drink now but will keep for 3 years.
